Sometimes I amaze myself

One of the benefits of getting (or being forced to get) a new phone is the opportunity to rethink which apps you really need on it. One still cannot delete unnecessary apps that Google thinks are necessary, but I digress.

I was sorting through an old note taking app that I had not opened in years when I came across this, dated August 23, 2016:

One of the apps on my phone is now starting to flash Donald Trump ads at me. They are trying to present him as a heroic leader of men. One image has him in a pose that I am sure I have seen in a painting of George Washington.

My personal status, since I am not American, or even a resident, is that of interested bystander (or maybe horrified witness), but honestly, in no way do these ads even remotely improve my opinion of this buffoon. In fact, I would take them for parodies, if it were not for their air of deliberate gravity. The fact that he takes himself seriously is bad enough, but the fact that a large swath of the American public does also, does not speak well for the country as a whole.

Wake up America. I realize that Clinton is not a particularly good alternative - in fact I think she, like Pauline Marois before her, will cause the glass ceiling to thicken dramatically, but surely she is a better choice than someone who has systematically exported jobs, and hired illegal immigrants to bust unions, and now proposes to "Make America Great Again".

Great for who? For Donald Trump only is my guess. I don't think it will be for the chumps who vote for him.
